In this lecture, we will explore the physiological and pathological effects of Angiotensin II, a key effector of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). Based on Goodman & Gilman, we will examine three major domains of Angiotensin II action:
Altered Peripheral Resistance – including vasoconstriction and enhanced sympathetic activity
Altered Renal Function – focusing on sodium reabsorption, aldosterone release, and renal hemodynamics
Altered Cardiovascular Structure – covering hypertrophy and remodeling effects
Objectives:
Functions and Effects of Angiotensin II
