A common question during the COVID-19 pandemic from the long COVID patients is that my interleukin 6 (IL-6) is elevated for months or years but my c reactive protein (CRP) is back to normal. In this talk, we will review a study of hospitalized patients with a discordant IL-6 and CRP.
In addition to the review of the study, we will also briefly review the functions of the CRP other than its use as a blood biomarker for inflammation.
