Traditional Recovery Literature of AA describes a "Peculiar Twist of the mind" that sublimes reason, and the individual "discovers" themself involved in drinking, yet it was not preceded by craving....merely a passing thought such as " I never tried that kind of stuff before" or "Adding milk to the whiskey negates the effects of alcohol"...an effect that seems to sublime all other aspects of mental balance, yet does not contain any desire to actually consume alcohol...as if the choice to drink occured prior to conscious awareness. this may be a different phenomena from craving or the understanding of craving as it is studied and cataloged by gthe medical profession
