This webinar expands on our discussion of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) by examining their clinical applications and potential adverse effects. We will review the therapeutic use of PPIs in the management of acid-related disorders, including GERD, erosive esophagitis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and Helicobacter pylori eradication. Additionally, we will discuss their role in treating pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and the prevention of NSAID-associated gastric ulcers.
The session will also cover the safety profile of PPIs, including short- and long-term adverse effects, potential drug interactions, and considerations for optimizing their use in clinical practice. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of when and how to prescribe PPIs effectively while minimizing risks.
Learning Objectives:
Clinical Applications of Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs)
