Emergency Medicine

Emergency Medicine is a specialty which manages the full spectrum of physical and behavioural emergencies in the Emergency Department. This includes the immediate assessment and treatment of patients with serious and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Emergency Medicine physicians see patients of all age groups, with a wide spectrum of undifferentiated disorders. This module introduces you to key principles in the diagnosis and management of acute illnesses and injury, including resuscitation. The depth and breadth of Emergency Medicine is wide - and it touches on emergencies across all specialties. Each presentation will give you a deeper understanding of an EM physician's approach to a wide range of presentations.

Faraaz Bhatti, MD FRCEM 

Faraaz Bhatti MD completed his training in the United Kingdom and holds a Fellowship from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Over the years he has developed several interests including in medical education. He has been fortunate to have taught for a leading medical school, as their senior clinical lecturer. In 2019 he led an Emergency Department, ambulance and air ambulance service as Medical Director, subsequently moving to the United States. Dr. Bhatti continues to enjoy imparting his knowledge in creative ways to medical students, doctors and other healthcare professionals!
